Narragunnawali Awards 2025: Recognising outstanding commitment to reconciliation in Australian schools and early learning services

This year marks a decade of the Narragunnawali: Reconciliation in Education program, dedicated to strengthening reconciliation action in schools and early learning services across the nation. Over the past ten years, educational institutions have demonstrated their commitment to building meaningful connections between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the broader education community.
The Narragunnawali Awards, now in their fifth season, is the only national awards program that recognises and celebrates schools and early learning services implementing outstanding reconciliation initiatives. The awards celebrate commitment to reconciliation in education, the strength of relationships shared by the school or service community and the impact of reconciliation initiatives.
Applications and nominations for the Narragunnawali Awards 2025 are now open! We invite educators, school and service leaders, and community members to nominate a school or early learning service that has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to reconciliation. If your institution has led the way in reconciliation, now is the time to apply.
This year’s awards are honoured to have esteemed patrons – Professor Peter Buckskin and Aunty Geraldine Atkinson – and a distinguished judging panel:
Sharon Davis
Professor Joe Sambono
and Professor Grace Sarra.
